The Real Way To Grow Your Engagement on Instagram

Hot take. There’s no secret recipe for growing engagement on your Instagram. It’s just not that simple. Believe us – we wish it was, but the world of social media likes to provide a challenge for us all.

With that being said, we do have some proven tips that we implement for our clients at Route that are sure to engage your audience and build authentic brand connections. What do these connections lead to? Long-term and loyal customers.

CREATE CONTENT YOUR AUDIENCE WANTS TO ENGAGE WITH

We always like to crunch the numbers at Route and look at what’s working. Take a monthly inventory of what content is performing best. Take those content ideas and adapt them. It's the perfect way to keep your audience engaged with your brand, as well as continue to build a community around your content. P.S. the more shareable the post – the better!

USE ALL THE FEATURES

Instagram loves it when creators use brand new features on the app. When a new feature is available, be sure to incorporate it into your strategy early on. For example, Instagram just released the new “Add Yours” photo feature – take a second this week and create a Story around this new sticker and see how your audience engages!

POST AT THE RIGHT TIME

This is important! You want to pay close attention to when your audience is actually online. Take a peek into your analytics on your Instagram account and create your posting schedule around it. This can fluctuate depending on time of year, so it’s always good to check your analytics dashboard at least once a month to confirm you are still using accurate data sets.

BE AUTHENTIC, AND DARE WE SAY… FUN!

The pressure for perfection on social media is old news. Your audience wants to see real, raw, candid content that’s relatable to them. Creating a bond with your audience and gaining their trust makes them feel seen, and turns them in to loyal brand followers.
