4 Ways To Conquer Your Content Calendar
Because You Have 8 Million Other Things To Do.
As a small business owner you are constantly juggling multiple projects – from payroll to strategy to meetings and more – developing your social media content calendar gets pushed to the bottom of your long list pretty quickly each month. But how are you supposed to grow your audience on social media if you’re not able to produce the content needed to stay in front of people? We’re sharing our 4 favorite ways to make developing your monthly social media content calendar easier.
Develop your calendar template.
This is the simplest way to feel like you have a head start on content. Map out your month. Look for days that are important to your business or fun social media holidays that can be incorporated into your calendar to drive engagement to your social platforms. Are you running any promotions? Add that in. This bird’s-eye view approach makes social media content much easier to manage with your busy schedule as a business owner.
Batch content.
Whether you are adding Reels to your calendar or creating shareable graphics, it is always best to work two weeks in advance and batch your content. What does batching mean? Simply put, it’s creating all of your content for the desired time period in a determined time span. Working two weeks in advance gives you enough leverage to adjust the planned content in case there is a viral trend you can jump on, without shifting your entire content calendar and getting left behind.
Canva is your best friend.
Canva makes designing eye-catching graphics for your digital presence insanely easy and super attractive. You can easily add your brand logo, colors and other assets into the program to incorporate them into each post for your social media platforms. And yes, there is a free version.
Sign up for a Social Media Scheduling Tool!
This will be your best friend. We love Later here at Route, but there are other free options to use like the scheduling tool through your Facebook Business Manager page. With most tools you’ll receive a push notification directly to the desired device prompting your reminder.
